10 Tips to help you succeed in your weight loss and help you obtain the Ultimate Body!
1. Drink More Water - Start every day with an 8 oz. glass of water and continue to drink an 8 oz. glass of water every two hours until bedtime (equals one gallon of water) - Water is necessary for lubrication of your joints - Water helps to flush out your kidneys and rid your body of toxic substances - Water helps your body maintain its volume of blood. - When you are dehydrated your blood volume drops and your energy level decreases.Don’t wait until you are thirsty. - Remember to drink 8 oz. of water every 2 hours
2. Always keep healthy snacks on hand Fill a small Ziploc bag with almonds or walnuts, apple slices or low fat string cheese.
3. Rest is essential for good health Insufficient sleep can result in physical and mental problems. Adequate rest enables the mind to think more clearly and is essential for overall good health
4. Eating speeds up the metabolism and helps burn more resting calories. Eat every 3 hours. Cortisol is the stress hormone that comes from not eating and puts your body in a starvation mode. Eating every 3 hours helps lower Cortisol levels and burn “Belly” fat first.Do NOT skip meals.
5. Reduce stress in your life. Think positive thoughts. Meditate. Keep yourself busy; for example: Go for a walk, listen to music, read a book, get a massage, visit a friend. Try to avoid people who are difficult and have negative thoughts.
6. Avoid excess alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption causes the release of sugars and increased carbohydrate cravings. Fat molecules bind to alcohol slowing the breakdown of fat.
7. Exercise More. Walking, jogging, running, biking, elliptical, swimming or anything cardiovascular to increase your heart rate. Add a variety to your workout to keep from getting bored. We want you to tone your muscles, not bulk up. Muscle weighs more than fat.
8. Monitor your fat intake. Avoid fried food, fast foods or any food high in fat content. Dairy products such as: cheese, milk, cottage cheese, margarine, etc…can be eaten in low fat or fat free forms.
